Prästhög Förskola's parent cooperative is set in nature in Högerud, south of Arvika and north of Klässbol. The preschool is housed in a Falu-red village school from the mid-1800s, extended to suit today's activities.
Prästhög Förskola has been run as a parent cooperative since it was founded in 1988, with Högeruds Ekonomiska Förening as the principal body. Parents are employers and members of the association, while the head of school is responsible for the pedagogical work based on the Swedish curriculum for preschools (Lpfö 18).
We have around 20 children aged 1–5, split across two units: Kotten and Kastanjen. With small groups and a dedicated staff, we want to give every child closeness, security, and plenty of room to explore.
Care for nature and the environment runs through everything we do. Children spend a lot of time outdoors in our large yard, grow vegetables in the Children's Garden, eat outdoor lunches by the fire pit, and play in the forest right at our doorstep.
Five people the children see every day — here's who we are.

I've worked in preschools and schools my whole career, and as a principal for 26 years. I'm passionate about giving children the conditions to grow, play, learn, and have fun at preschool.

Certified preschool teacher since 2006, at Prästhög since 2023. What drives me is watching children overcome challenges and grow in confidence — with every child I help along the way, the little child inside me grows a bit stronger too.
[Qualified preschool teacher. A short, playful bit about this person goes here.]

Qualified childcare worker, at Prästhög since 2024. As a child I dreamed of becoming a police officer to make the world a little fairer — today I feel I make a difference every day by giving children a safe, fair start in life.

I'm passionate about both food and children — combining cooking with being part of the children's everyday life feels like the perfect match. Nothing beats seeing their curiosity light up when they taste home-cooked food made with good ingredients.
All food at Prästhög Förskola is cooked from scratch by our own cook — always home-cooked, and as organic and locally sourced as possible. We offer vegetarian and special diet options as needed.
